Go Green in 3 Easy Ways, Even With a Busy Career
There are plenty of suggestions for saving the planet that sound very attractive; however, most of them are almost impossible to put into action due to our busy schedules. Even so, there are plenty of us who still feel guilty, or, who simply want to make a change and do their best for planet Earth.
Event though you may not be able to make big changes, here are some small ones that will definitely count, even though you may not realize it:
1. Skip That Takeout
I know how convenient takeout can be, especially if you’re on your way to your office and in a hurry, However, it is best if you eliminate that from you daily schedule, as tempted as you might be. Take a few minutes in the evening or in the morning, depending on your daily activities and time availability, and prepare your own office lunch, as simple as it may be. Another thing that you can do is go to a locally sourced cafe and eat food from a plate. This way, you also get some fresh air, exercise, and improve your mood. Another thing that you can do is encouraging your company to cut back on the paper products that they stock in the kitchen. Why have paper cups when you can have glasses or reusable water bottles? This way, everyone stays hydrated with less paper used.
2. Go Paper Less
Yes, it is not impossible and is tremendously helpful. Start by replacing your post-its with a note taking app. Moreover, stop using notepads and use your phone or laptop instead. I bet you spend more time on those anyway!
You are at the office and need to xerox something so that you can take it home with you? Instead, scan it with your phone, take a picture of it or email it to yourself. Not hard at all!
3. Bring Mother Nature In
Try and show how much you appreciate nature by using small gestures. Change your screensaver and use a picture of animals. This way, those passing by will see it and will understand that you enjoy what planet Earth has to offer. Moreover, you can also put a flower on your desk in order to bring a little freshness in.
These are only a few things that you can do, but that can make a difference. Imagine if all of us did!
